Port Facility Security Officer
Model Course 3.21
This course aims to facilitate the training of port facility security officers in accordance with the minimum knowledge understanding and proficiencies (KUPs) in the Guidelines on training and certification for port facility security officers (MSC.1/Circ.1188) to meet the duties and responsibilities required by the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code part A.
Company Security Officer
Model Course 3.20
This course aims to facilitate the training for company security officers so they can meet the mandatory minimum standards of competence in training and certification in accordance with Guidelines on training and certification for company security officers (MSC.1/Circ.1154) and the ISPS Code Part A.
Restricted Operator’s Certificate for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
Model course 1.26
This course aims to facilitate training that meets the mandatory minimum standards of competence and relevant requirements in the restricted operator's certificate for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). This is in accordance with the STCW Convention and Code the Radio Regulations and the STCW-F Convention and Code.
Survey of Electrical Installations
Model course 3.04
This course aims to meet the mandatory standards of competence in conducting surveys of electrical installations particularly in verifying compliance with IMO conventions related to ship safety. Tailored to the trainees’ needs and experience levels the course is a key resource to aid trainees in mastering essential survey procedures and verification techniques in compliance with international standards.
General Operator’s Certificate for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
Model course 1.25
This course aims to facilitate training that meets the mandatory minimum standards of competence and relevant requirements in general operator's certificate for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Tanker Cargo and Ballast Handling Simulator

Operational use of integrated bridge systems including integrated navigation systems
Model Course 1.32
This course provides training in the operational use of integrated bridge systems (IBS) and integrated navigational systems (INS). Designed for officers in charge of a navigational watch the course enhances safety and environmental protection by instructing on the correct use of these systems and highlighting potential risks from improper use. Flexible in design it can be adapted to trainees’ experience levels ensuring comprehensive understanding. This course is a key resource for improving navigation safety standards and ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations.
Survey of Machinery Installations and Compendium
Model course 3.03
This two-volume course covers the requirements of initial annual intermediate and periodical and renewal surveys as specified in SOLAS. It does not cover preliminary design or plan approvals nor does it cover the survey or inspection of chemical tankers Gas carriers special purpose ships or mobile offshore units.
SAR Administration (IAMSAR Manual, Volume I)
Model course 3.13
This course is intended to provide an introduction to the administration and management of a maritime Search and rescue (SAR) service to assist States in meeting their own SAR needs and the obligations they accepted under the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue 1979 and its amendments together with the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) 1974 and its amendments.
SAR On-Scene Coordinator (IAMSAR Manual Volume III)
Model course 3.15
This model course aims to provide knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Search and rescue On-Scene Coordinator (OSC) for a Search and rescue incident as defined in the International Aeronautical and Maritime Search and rescue Manual (IAMSAR) Volume III.
Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats
Model course 1.23
This course covers training in the mandatory minimum requirements for the issue of certificates of proficiency in survival craft as specified in section A-VI/2-1 of the STCW Code.
Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats
Model course 1.24
This course provides training in fast rescue boats and is based on the provisions of table A-VI/2-2 of the STCW Code.
Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
Model Course 1.20
This course provides mandatory minimum training in fire prevention and fire fighting and is based on the provisions of table A-VI/1-2 of the STCW Code.
Advanced Training in Fire Fighting
Model course 2.03
This course covers training in fire fighting and is based on the provisions of table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code.
Security Awareness Training for All Port Facility Personnel
Model course 3.25
This model course is intended to provide the knowledge required to enable personnel without designated security duties in connection with a Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) to enhance security in accordance with the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended the ISPS Code the IMDG Code the IMO/ILO Code of Practice on Security in Ports and guidance contained in IMO MSC.1/Circ.1341. Successful trainees should contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness and the ability to recognize security threats and respond appropriately.
Security Awareness Training for All Seafarers
Model course 3.27
This model course is intended to provide the knowledge required to enable personnel without designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan (SSP) to enhance ship security in accordance with the requirements of chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended the ISPS Code and section A-VI/6-1 of the STCW Code as amended.
Those who successfully complete this course should achieve the required standard of competence enabling them to contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness and the ability to recognize security threats and to respond appropriately.
Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties
Model course 3.26
This model course is intended to provide the knowledge required for seafarers with designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan (SSP) to perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended the ISPS Code and section A-VI/6 of the STCW Code as amended.
Bridge Resource Management
Model course 1.22
This model course is practical and theoretical and consists of a series of exercises performed on a ship handling simulator. Classroom lectures to provide the necessary theoretical background for the exercises are included. Particular items dealt with in these lectures are illustrated either by including them as part of an exercise or by a separate simulator demonstration. Bridge teamwork is dealt with either as interactive Computer Based Training (CBT) or lecture.
Engine-Room Resource Management
Model course 7.17
The overall aim of this model course is to meet the mandatory minimum standard of competence for seafarers for the following competence: Maintain a safe engineering watch in particular engine-room resource management in column 2 table A-III/1 of the STCW Code under the function marine engineering at the operational level. This course is theoretical and practical including simulator exercises taking into account table A-III/1 and the relevant parts of section A-VIII/2 of the STCW Code.
Passenger safety, cargo safety and hull integrity training
Model course 1.46
This IMO Model course addresses the competences and training that are required to achieve the standards for knowledge understanding and proficiencies (KUPs) set out in paragraph 5 of section A-V/2 of the STCW Code.
